Rod sleeves are sized to rod length; a 7–6 rod does not fit a 7‑0 sleeve. Hooks rust in a wet box. Pliers are not optional the first time you have to back a treble out of a thrashing fish.

A genuinely sealed 3700-format tray with a rust-inhibiting emitter inside. Hooks stored in this come out next season still sharp.
tradeoff Three times the price of a plain 3700. Worth it for hooks and terminal tackle, pointless for soft plastics.
